We’re hiring a Senior Director, Organic Growth to help us fulfill our mission. This is a full-time, remote-first position.
High Level
Reporting to the CEO, we’re looking for a Senior Director, Organic Growth to own the long-term financial success, innovation, and quality of our Organic Growth service line. You’ll oversee a team of 5 that we expect to double over the next 18 months.
You’ll lead the leaders: building the leadership and management muscle of your Group Directors. You’ll set the systems and strategic direction for our 4 organic offerings: SEO/GEO, CRO, Email/SMS, and Marketing Analytics. You’ll foster collaboration with our other service line, Paid Growth, to create the best outcomes for our clients across all services.
The right candidate is a marketer by trade. They have a deep understanding of the digital buying journey and curiosity about its future in an AI-first internet. They’ve led high-performing growth teams and can set a vision for how their team operates.
Responsibilities
- Service Line Leadership: You own the Organic Growth service line as a whole. You are responsible for delivering on its long-term financial success, with a focus on innovation, quality, and profitability. This splits into three types of responsibility for our different offerings within the service line:
- SEO/GEO Ownership: You are the company expert for SEO/GEO. You set our standards for everything from technical SEO audits to AI citation strategies. You know how to connect the work to revenue. You stay close to industry changes and client feedback to iterate over time.
- CRO, Email/SMS, and Marketing Analytics Oversight: We have a leader for these services. But you're expected to oversee their delivery and ensure all 4 Organic services (SEO/GEO, CRO, Email/SMS, and Marketing Analytics) remain a cohesive offering, aligned with market needs.
- Collaboration with Paid Growth: You’ll ensure everything we do for Organic Growth is multiplicative for our Paid Growth efforts - and vice versa.
- AI Systems. The world of growth services is changing fast, and Flywheel is at the forefront. You’re expected to improve the adoption of our existing AI systems and innovate on your service’s AI systems to drive client and agency outcomes. You’re given the resources you need to accomplish this - we are investing heavily here.
- Leading the Leaders: You build leadership and management capability across the service line. You develop your Group Directors, helping them grow into stronger leaders and managers. You instill buy-in for the business’s mission, vision, and values.
- Executive Client Relationship Management: You’re the ultimate point of accountability for our Organic clients’ success. You’re measured on client outcomes growth and NPS. You build executive client relationships and conduct quarterly strategy reviews to ensure we’re on track.
- Getting Your Hands Dirty: This is a leadership role. But we are a growing, bootstrapped business with a team-first mentality. You are ready to jump in on execution or client management in a pinch and stay close enough to the practice of marketing to be able to do it.
- Profitability and Operations: You oversee your client’s profit-and-loss statement. You manage your team’s resourcing and make decisions around headcount, allocations, and contractors. You problem-solve to ensure your team doesn’t stay roadblocked for long.
Qualifications
The right person has 8+ years’ experience or equivalent skills that includes the following:
- Leading growth teams of 5+ people, including managing managers. This can be in-house or agency-side (no preference).
- Deep experience developing and executing strategies at scale for SEO/GEO
- Strong competence in CRO, email/SMS, and marketing analytics strategies.
